Developed in Utah, refined in the WorldTour: ENVE Composites
ENVE Composites’ story begins far from Europe’s cycling hotspots, in a small workshop in Ogden, Utah. It was there that a small group of riders and engineers pushed themselves to go beyond “good enough”.

Founded in 2007 by cousins Brett and Taylor Satterthwaite together with Jason Schiers, ENVE followed a clear idea from the start. The goal was to build wheels, components, and frames that were light, stiff, and fast enough for the world’s best riders, while still feeling smooth and confident on everyday roads.
From the beginning, ENVE grew through riding and testing. New rims were built, put to the test, then adjusted, and rebuilt again. Long climbs revealed weaknesses. Fast descents exposed instability. Rough roads tested durability. Each ride gave feedback, and every improvement aimed to make equipment that could accelerate quickly, hold a line at high speed, and stay reliable through long days in the saddle.
As ENVE worked hard on its high-quality products, production stayed firmly in Ogden. Design, testing, and manufacturing all happened under one roof. At a time when many brands moved production elsewhere (China, Taiwan), ENVE chose to stay close to its grassroots.

Engineers and riders continued working side by side, sharing ideas between rides and during coffee breaks. What started with rims for custom frame builders slowly expanded into a full range of wheels, components, and eventually complete bikes.
By the mid-2010s, ENVE had outgrown its original space and moved into a new 7,500m2 headquarters in Ogden. The larger facility brought tighter quality control, faster development, and closer feedback from riders. While this growth happened quietly in Utah, ENVE products began appearing on the biggest stages of the sport.
Success came first in World Cup downhill racing. Road racing followed soon after, with ENVE’s SES wheels and the Melee frame showing up in Grand Tours. When Anthony Turgis of Team TotalEnergies won a demanding gravel stage at the Tour de France, the Melee delivered ENVE’s first Tour stage victory. Not long after, the same SES wheels helped Tadej Pogačar take the yellow jersey at cycling’s flagship race.
The partnership with UAE Team Emirates drove ENVE to the front of the WorldTour. After months of wind-tunnel testing and road comparisons, the leading WorldTour team chose ENVE as its exclusive supplier for wheels and key components. Seeing Pogačar ride in yellow on ENVE gear confirms that the technology developed in Utah performs at the highest level.
The company lives by a simple idea. What wins races at the highest level should be the same product everyday riders can buy for themselves. Every race serves as a test and every result confirms the work behind it. ENVE’s journey shows that top-level performance does not need to be distant or exclusive. Careful hand-built production, advanced aerodynamics, and real-world ride feel can exist together.
Today, across Catalonia and far beyond, the ENVE logo appears on the bikes of professionals and committed amateurs alike. Some faces are well known, others less so. What they share is a love for cycling and the choice to rely on ENVE’s performance and quality.
