10Plus E Road Series tested in Sierra Nevada

“They stop at the perfect 10. We start at the Plus.” That’s the mindset of 10Plus, claiming that perfection is great, but going beyond is even better. Does their 10Plus E Road Series deliver?

The 10PLUS E Road Series carbon wheelset is said to be built for riders who want a responsive feel when it matters most: when the road turns steep and the pressure on the legs rises. Tested by a Portuguese professional cyclist in Sierra Nevada, it delivers the kind of light and smooth riding experience the brand promises.

Built in a Chinese factory founded in 2013 and now covering 94,000 m², 10PLUS specialises in the production of wheels and rims. The company aims to narrow the gap between the professional peloton and everyday riders, making premium performance no longer a luxury, but a concept accessible to every rider. This is backed by radial impact testing, a 1,200-day rim warranty, a 365-day hub warranty, and a 180-day warranty on accessories.

It’s a strong statement to claim you can go beyond perfection with a wheelset, but the brand seems determined to prove it. With a high-modulus carbon construction, ceramic bearings, and a setup focused on speed and efficiency, the E Road Series has the foundations of a leading wheelset. Especially in a sport where every gram and every second matters.

Engineered for climbing

At its core, the E Road Series uses a high-modulus carbon rim built with Toray T700 and T800 fibres, paired with a 21 mm inner width and a 28 mm outer width. The range includes 40 mm, 50 mm, and 65 mm rim depths, with claimed weights of 1,385 g, 1,415 g, and 1,565 g respectively, all designed for 700c tubeless tyres.

The feel is immediately familiar to riders who like a sharp, lively bike beneath them. It is light enough to stay responsive when the gradient rises, yet substantial enough to hold its line and carry speed with confidence.

A hub fitted with S&S ceramic bearings takes the ride a step further. Ceramic bearings are rust-proof, roll with less resistance, and help the wheels feel smoother and quieter as they spin. Combined with the 45T star ratchet system, the result is faster engagement and a more direct connection between pedal input and forward motion.

This is the kind of detail that matters when you are pushing hard out of a corner or grinding through a long climb. The wheel reacts cleanly, without dead spots or hesitation, which is exactly what a performance-focused rider expects.

Proven performance

Tested by Portuguese professional cyclist Daniel Viegas in Sierra Nevada, the wheelset was put through demanding climbing conditions over several consecutive days. He concluded that the E Road Series offers “great value for money.”

“The wheelset has a very clean finish and ceramic-bearing hubs that put it on par with higher-end models on the market. On the road, it feels stiff and highly responsive, especially when riding out of the saddle. With a 50 mm profile, a weight of around 1,400 g, and a tubeless-ready design, it is a competitive choice both for riders looking for a simple upgrade and for those wanting a wheelset ready for racing. It has genuinely changed the way I ride.”
