Rocacorba

And of course, Masia Can Pou sits right on the slopes of the iconic Rocacorba — perfect for cyclists seeking a real challenge. Whether on a mountain bike along technical singletracks, on a gravel bike tackling the wider (but sometimes rocky) paths, or on a road bike via the ascent from Banyoles; this masia is strategically placed to test every rider.

Childhood cycling

Donatellos connection with cycling goes back to his childhood in Italy. As a teenager, he trained and competed first at cadet and later junior level, before moving abroad to study. When I moved to London for my studies, it became difficult to keep up with serious training. However, when I later moved to Barcelona, I rediscovered the joy of riding along the Maresme coast, through Vallès, and especially in the climbs of Montseny.”

Eight years ago, Donatello and I settled in Vall de Llémena”, Eirene continues. Cycling once again became an almost daily ritual. The quiet roads, challenging climbs, and endless tracks make the valley an ideal playground for anyone on two wheels. More recently, we have embraced gravel riding, and now that our children are a little older, we often head out together to explore the paths and hidden corners around our home.”

Staying faithful to his Italian roots, Donatello naturally rides an Italian bike: a Basso. And of course, given his Italian culinary background, Masia Can Pou offers excellent fine dining.

Ultimately, Masia Can Pou breathes cycling. The owners know exactly what visitors on two wheels need, want, and expect from a bike-focused masia.

At the same time, the residence is a charming rural retreat with a captivating history. It offers eight double rooms, each with a private bathroom, as well as an independent flat for four people. Here guests will find all the comforts they need for an unforgettable stay.

And if that weren’t enough, all rooms offer spectacular views across the Llémena Valley, northwest of Girona, on the flanks of Rocacorba, where active visitors can eat their hearts out.
