Croissant Victim Cycling Club
Group rides with plenty of croissants
Founded in 2020, the Croissant Victim Cycling Club (CVCC) aims to combine two of life’s great pleasures: riding bikes and sniffing out the best bakeries and coffee joints to enjoy a croissant and coffee during their club rides. “We include coffee and croissant stops on nearly every ride—either at the meeting point, halfway, or at the end of our training.”
The club name was established once it became apparent that members were collectively experiencing symptoms typical of an addiction. The diagnosis was clear: “We realized that we had become croissant victims, even the pros,” laughs Oscar, the club’s founder.
CVCC is an international group of cyclists living in Barcelona, and practicing different disciplines of the sport. Some of them have been riding bikes all their lives, while other members are rather new to the sport and are catching up quickly. A number of women join the group rides, and on each occasion around ten people participate.
CVCC is an open club that also has its own kit and apparel. In addition, the group has some well-chosen sponsors to help members cope with their addiction, including two local bakeries (L’Atelier Barcelona and Pastisseria Canal) and a local coffee roaster.
