Brewing change with BdeGust
BdeGust brewery is located between Sils and Girona just off the A2, a popular road for cyclists. However, unlike a typical brewery, their focus isn’t just on crafting a quality product, but on creating jobs for people who’ve had a tough time finding their footing in the workforce. This is a project with multiple layers of commitment—a small team on a big mission to make a difference through every bottle they produce. Everything is done with kindness, straight from the heart.
Company founder Costa Boadas explains that they collaborate with Els Joncs from Sarrià de Ter, an organisation that provides a group of over 80 young people a chance to work in different fields, including producing the beers of BdeGust. The day of the delivery of a new batch of beers – BdeGust produces 80,000 of them per year – is a special day for this group of seven adolescents.

BdeGust’s commitment to sustainability is just as strong as its social mission. They keep everything as local as possible, from the ingredients they use to the suppliers they partner with. Organic barley and hops, some of them grown in their own backyard, are the backbone of their recipes; and the brewing process is designed to minimize waste and energy use.
The beers themselves reflect everything BdeGust stands for. They all tell a different story and support a different charity or local NGO, such as those caring for injured animals, or supporting children in challenging family situations.
By putting people and the planet first, BdeGust has created something bigger than beer. So the next time you take a sip of BdeGust beer, whether in a bar, at one of their beer-tasting events, or at home after an online order, you can be sure this beer was crafted with care and a smile.
